My wife, my "ezer"

I read this today and thought of just how much I appreciate and love my wife, my ezer.

The Hebrew word for “helper” is ezer, a word used several times in the Old Testament to describe God as the deliverer of His people. The old folks at church would say it like this: “He made a way out of no way.” An ezer is someone who can do for you that which you simply cannot do for yourself. An ezer is a rescuer and a fighter. It is a powerful definition, and only once is it used to describe a human being--Eve. What a different connotation this has for the marriage relationship. This powerful woman can not only make your dinner and satisfy you in bed, but she is warring for you in Jesus’ name, and encouraging you to be all that God wants you to be. Attitude

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company . . . a church . . . a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past . . . we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude . . . I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you . . . we are in charge of our attitudes." -Charles Swindoll

Burning in our hearts

Luke 24:32
When was the last time your heart burned within when you opened Scripture? As I travel that road called life, my God walks with me. As I become more and more familiar with His Word, it is as if He opens His Scripture continuously in my thoughts, renewing my mind. When I am walking in the Holy Spirit, His Words are on my tongue to minister that Word to others. Oh how it burns inside me, looking for opportunities to make itself known, revealing His glory, beckoning a call to those who would hear.
